For three years now, Jean-Benoit Labrecque has been developing a solo project that he is maturing in small doses, in sedimentary layers. If the emblematic work Duos pour corps et instruments remains the gateway to his project, his quest goes beyond the notion of repertoire and aims at the appropriation, even the authorized detour, of a conception of space, of a sound environment and of a choreographic material. Is there no more complex writing than that of a work for a single body? A singular, relevant approach where sound research will be prioritized this time.
