Une conférence dansée
UNFOLD | Une conférence dansée consists of a performance halfway between an open rehearsal and a more formal presentation. Inspired by the UNFOLD | 7 perspectives creation process, the project is an invitation to experience dance more closely.
In UNFOLD | Une conférence dansée, Danièle Desnoyers presents herself on stage at a table covered with notebooks and other objects related to the realization of her choreographic work. Her objective: to raise the curtain on what it means to design a choreography and her approach to dance, using the tools that have helped her to build her subject. A live video transmission system allows the public to access the content of the notebooks. Five to seven dancers, always present in the space, punctuate the statement with excerpts from UNFOLD | 7 perspectives. The intimate experience brings out the reality experienced by the choreographer and gives meaning to what choreographic creation is all about.
The activity is a tinge of generosity and humour. Developed with the interpreters, it is an unusual act of mediation and also a show. It is aimed at both neophytes and dance enthusiasts.
A video recording of UNFOLD | Une conférence dansée is available on Espace Perreault.
