THREE CREATIONS AT THE HEART OF OUR NEW CULTURAL SEASON
Were back with a new programmation at Le Carré des Lombes! A luminous season of encounters, inclusion and transmission will enliven the calendar over the coming months. This fall, we’ll be thrilled by three new works featuring nearly thirty professional dancers and graduates from different communities.
Danièle Desnoyers’ major creation revisited at Département de danse de l’UQAM
A professor in UQAM’s Dance Department since 2012, the choreographer generously shares one of the most memorable creations in her repertoire, UNFOLD | 7 perspectives. After its premiere at the Festival TransAmériques in 2019, the work was subsequently unveiled in various forms with UNFOLD | Une conférence dansée and the documentary 7 Perspectives. Now involving 16 students graduating from the baccalauréat en pratiques artistiques, the choreographic partition will be transmitted by interpreters from the original creation, Myriam Arseneault and Jean-Benoit Labrecque, accompanied by Danièle Desnoyers. This spectacular show will be presented from December 6 to 9, 2023. A performance specially dedicated to Parcours Danse participants will be offered in parallel of the program on Friday, December 1. An unmissable event!
Montréal-Marrakech sélectionnée à Parcours Danse
Acclaimed by the public during the first series of shows at the Festival Montpellier Danse, Montréal-Marrakech will be presented in the official selection of Parcours Danse. The representation will take place on November 28 at 7:30pm at the Édifice Wilder – Espace danse / Espace Orange. This will be the first diffusion of this international project in Montreal.
« The tandem-binomial, duo of choreographers frees bodies from all superfluous cultural imprints to get to the heart of the matter: the confrontation of body-continents for a new territory of dance: a geological reception basin that collects the transformation and erosion of time. » – Geneviève Charras
A new cycle of creation
Danièle Desnoyers begins a new cycle of creation with a team of 8 interpreters and other collaborators. The project began last August with a studio residency offered by the Département de danse de l’UQAM. Stay tuned, more details will be revealed over the coming season!
