LE CARRÉ DES LOMBES AT PARCOURS DANSE 2023
Le Carré des Lombes presents two new creations at the next edition of Parcours Danse. Montréal-Marrakech in the official selection, followed by a vast project for the transmission of its repertoire in collaboration with the UQAM dance department, entitled UNFOLD | 16 perspectives.
Montréal-Marrakech | Official Selection
Acclaimed by audiences at its premiere at the Festival Montpellier Danse last June, Montréal-Marrakech will be presented on Tuesday, November 28 at 7:30pm at The Wilder Building – Espace danse / Espace Orange. This will be the first presentation of this international project in Montreal.
Driven by the desire to provoke a true artistic encounter, beyond their respective practices, choreographers Danièle Desnoyers and Taoufiq Izeddiou are venturing together into unknown territory, investing the fertile and fragile soil of co-creation.
« The tandem-binomial, duo of choreographers frees bodies from all superfluous cultural imprints to get to the heart of the matter: the confrontation of body-continents for a new territory of dance: a geological reception basin that collects the transformation and erosion of time. » – Geneviève Charras
UNFOLD | 16 PERSPECTIVES
Special project presented in OFF-Parcours Danse
UQAM’s Département of danse and Le Carré des Lombes are collaborating to recreate UNFOLD | 7 perspectives for 16 performers graduating from the Bachelor of Dance program. Danièle Desnoyers, choreographer and teacher since 2012 in the field of artistic practices, adapts the work with dancers Myriam Arseneault and Jean-Benoit Labrecque. Brontë Poiré-Prest, Nicolas Patry and Abe Mijhneer are also among the artists who contributed to this major transmission project dedicated to up-and-coming dance artists.
A special open rehearsal for Parcours Danse participants will be held in conjunction with the program, on Friday, December 1 at 2:30pm. Don’t miss it!
