Three new artistic proposals, three fabulous impulses that lift us up and enable us to resist the prevailing gloom. Danièle Desnoyers and the company take root in exceptional locations, whose striking beauty becomes the source of poetic gestures. Then, enriched by her creative experiences in remote locations, the choreographer returns to Usine C to present a brand-new work for an ensemble of eight performers.

LES SCÉNOGRAPHIES-PAYSAGES

After La forêt des lisses at the Musée Maritime de Saint-Laurent, the Jardins de Métis and, more recently, the historical and archaeological sites of Sardinia, Danièle Desnoyers returns to the boreal forest, the epicentre of her imagination and identity, with two site-specific creations this summer.

From the waters of the river it overlooks to the forest that surrounds it, including a new sculpture in its Harmonic Garden, Domaine Forget reveals its charms in this show created in its image. Under the breezes of Charlevoix, the wandering itinerary gathers six performers and the Quasar saxophone quartet to bring this new edition to life.

The company continues its trajectory, setting down new roots in the Outaouais region, in Gatineau Park. The restored ruins and wooded trails of the historic Mackenzie-King estate become the fertile ground for this boreal edition. Vestiges intertwine with the chronicle of time. The memory layers are plural. Under the attraction of the site, the performers melt into the landscape. This immersive experience brings artists and spectators together in the intimacy of site-specific creation.

SOULÈVEMENT brings a lively force to the Usine C stage this fall. A dance at once primal and avidly complex, where joy becomes an act of resistance. The artist takes on the abyssal repertoire of composer Richard Wagner, creating a dialogue between excerpts from his orchestral works and the electroacoustic soundscapes of Montreal composer Ben Shemie.

Invited by the International Music and Dance Academy for the first time, the choreographer invites participants to experiment with a new score designed specifically for the outdoor spaces of Domaine Forget.
